All types of industry these days require stable internet connections. Especially those that are vital to the power infrastructure of the nation.
This Wind Farm is 80km from the nearest large town and had very poor signal quality for 4GX Mobile Broadband Data services. There was a Cel-Fi Pro unit that had been previously installed by another contractor but, as is the case with all Cel-Fi units, it’s priority was voice services rather than data services.
Essential Communications Services was contracted to install a fully functioning 4GX Mobile Broadband Data service at the site to enable the telemetry monitoring services to be installed as required to run the wind farm at its optimum capacity.
With the main building being a large industrial structure a knuckle reach boom lift was required to be able to reach the roof line over 5 metres high.
The infrastructure used is secured to a 3m galvanized mast that is secured to the roof of the building using slotted channel and a galvanized bracket. On this mast is a Telco XPOL 700-2700 3G+4G+4GX Panel antenna that is cabled down using LCU400 Coaxial Cable to the client’s existing modem.
This infrastructure gave the on-site staff the ability to communicate with their head office in Melbourne instantaneously as well as head office being able to see, in real time, the power output of each individual wind turbine and be able to control the individual turbines from the control room at their Melbourne head office.
All the communications & telecommunications infrastructure for this installation was supplied by our ever wonderful suppliers Telco Antennas.
If you have a communications & telecommunications infrastructure challenge please do not hesitate to get in touch with Essential Communications Services, it would be our pleasure to be of assistance to you anywhere in Australia.
