Heatherbrae Bypass Mobile Voice, 5G Data & Networking

When a major client wins the tender to construct the new bypass near Newcastle NSW and needs communications and telecommunications, they call on Essential Communications Services to completely transform their works site to handle everything a major roads project can throw at them.

Initially we were tasked to install 5G Mobile Broadband services until their fibre connection had been rolled out, as well as 40 network points, but, as is fairly usual when we go to these sites, it was not just 5G Mobile Broadband and the 40 network points, it became all of the above, mobile voice and another 15 network points, including setting up their data rack and server modules.

As this was an entirely new site, absolutely nothing had been run prior to Essential Communications Services arriving. We set about mapping the office space and setting out the network points, after which we started the running of over 3000 metres of Cat6 network cable from the server room to every workspace, conference room and office under the floor of the 60 metre x 40 metre portable works dongers. This took us over five 10 hour days to complete as everything had to be run along catenary wire that we had to install prior to the cabling.

Once all the networking infrastructure was completed, we started on the 5G Mobile Broadband service. A Panorama 4×4 MiMo panel antenna was mounted atop a Telco 3m Serviceable Mast on the roof of the office above the server room where the equipment was to be housed. This was cabled down to a Peplink BR1 Pro 5G Modem Router which was then attached to the network.
