Essential Communications Services were contracted by our ever supportive supplier, Telco Antennas, to complete an Optus 4G/4G+ mobile broadband installation for one of their clients in Clayton.
As with most industrial buildings the construction of this warehouse is concrete and steel, resulting in the Faraday cage effect on any signal coming in from the outside world.
This client needed stable, reliable internet access to be able to communicate effectively with their head office, so we were contracted to install an Optus 4G+ service to the roof of the office section of this warehouse.
On top of a Telco Antennas serviceable 3 metre galvanized mast we attached 1 x Telco XPOL MiMO Panel Antenna – 3G, 4G & 5G – 700-3800MHz to capture the best signal possible, 2 x Phaseblocker N Male to Female Lightning Arrester – up to 6GHz and 2 x 10 metre LCU400 Coaxial Cables N Male to SMA Male.
Because this roof is a slimline kliplok tin roofing system, attaching the mast to this takes a little bit more effort than the usual tin roof profile. This means that slimline kliplok brackets and unistrut (slotted channel) is needed to ensure that the mast has a stable base.
As mentioned above, the construction of this warehouse is mostly concrete and steel. To penetrate the building to where the client’s existing infrastructure, a Teltonika RUT250, was placed, we had to drill through 2 x 150mm concrete blocks using our newest piece of equipment, a Dewalt SDS Plus Hammer Drill. Without this, we would never have been able to penetrate the concrete blocks.
Once through the wall and into the conference room, we attached the SMA Male connectors from the LCU400 Coaxial Cable to the dual SMA wall plate. As the original location of the client’s existing RUT 250 Modem was the window sill, Essential Communications decided, after consultation with the client, to install a 4RU Wall Mounted Data Cabinet to house the equipment to protect it. So, as the RUT250 was moving from it’s original position, we had 2 x 3 metre LCU195 Coaxial Cables SMA Male to SMA Male connected to the dual SMA wall plate and threaded through into the cabinet.
This was a great installation with a great speed test result check out the digi pics, ensuring that both Telco Antennas and their client were happy with the finished result.
